How? By Cryotherapy.

Cryotherapy literally means “treatment using cold” and is used in sports and medicine to relieve pain and inflammatory symptoms through cold-induced analgesia. Cryotherapy has been practiced for over 5,000 years. But how does it compare to an ordinary ice pack to achieve cryostimulation?

Ice therapy requires at least 20 minutes to begin reducing an inflammatory reaction. With our TruCryo machine, the same cryostimulation can occur within 1 to 4 minutes. There is very little pain with localized cryotherapy as skin temperatures are checked frequently and maintained at a constant therapeutic temperature. Ice therapy has no provision to have a constant and useful temperature. And best of all, once therapy has been completed, the targeted area can be flexed immediately. With ice therapy, the targeted area will be stiff and numb until it warms up.

A localized cryotherapy session can be beneficial for many different conditions, including:

  • Allergies
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
  • Dermatitis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Insomnia
  • Lupus
  • Migraines
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Tendonitis

THE DIFFERENCE

Unlike whole body cryotherapy (WBC), localized cryotherapy does not require the use of complex equipment such as cryosaunas or cryogenic chambers and there is a lack of information concerning the actual temperatures maintained during exposure. While WBC offers individual benefits, localized cryotherapy is a much more relaxing and cost effective treatment.

TARGET PROBLEM AREAS

Localized cryotherapy takes just minutes. There is no downtime, it’s non-surgical and non-invasive, and can be done directly on the affected areas for reducing inflammation and acute pain issues, such as the upper and lower back, neck, shoulder, wrist, elbow, hip, ankle, knee, and heels. Localized cryotherapy has also been proven to be useful to decrease the issue of acne, scars, psoriasis, eczema, etc.

Cold Therapy for Headaches

LOOK & FEEL YOUR BEST

Localized cryotherapy is an innovative treatment that accelerates healing for those suffering from joint and muscle pain; boosts metabolism, weight loss, and athletic performance; calms anxiety, stress, and depression; improves sleep; relieves swelling and inflammation; reduces fat tissue, and reverses the signs of aging by promoting tighter, younger-looking skin.

Introducing the Kaasen

Our localized cryotherapy hand-held unit is the world’s most versatile cryostimulation device, using CO2 systematically to provide a quicker, condensed form of ice compression to targeted areas.

Unlike nitrogen cryotherapy equipment, the Kaasen delivers a dry, pressurized cold vapor therapy on one specific body part, using air that has been cryogenically cooled to sub-zero temperatures. In less than 30 seconds, this cold air is able to penetrate into layers of skin tissue. This stimulates an optimal local response from the body to enhance the recovery of damaged tissues and provides a therapeutic massage function in addition to the cooling function. The pressure of the spray is variable – from a very gentle 6 metres per second up to a firm 34 metres per second.

As soon as the cold source is removed, blood circulation increases, helping to alleviate pain, boosting recovery times, and restoring and rejuvenating the treated area.

Goodbye Plastic Surgery

Cryoscultping is a non-invasive alternative to plastic surgery with no bruising, swelling, or downtime. It uses cold temperatures to trigger the body to destroy fat cells without damage to outer tissues and skin, which can help slim and tone your waist and/or thighs! Body Wise Cryotherapy also offers a Frotox to help you reduce wrinkles, blemishes, and eye bags. Get an immediate tightening effect within minutes.

Repeated treatments for both body sculpting and facials have shown improvement over multiple visits with the proper time allotted in-between treatments to allow the body time to complete its natural processes for achieving results.

Local Cryotherapy FAQs

Hidden
What is local cryotherapy?

Local cryotherapy is basically cold therapy delivered with a hand-held device that targets cold air treatments to a specific injured area. The treatment only takes minutes to complete and leaves the client with benefits that far exceed what traditional icing can provide.

Is local cryotherapy safe?

Yes! Our device uses CO2, which is commonly used with minimally invasive procedures, and is fitted with an array of safety features.

Is local cryotherapy painful?

During a local cryotherapy session, the temperature of the vapor may reach as low as -108 F. While the vapor is very cold, it is definitely comfortable and relaxing. Remember that each individual’s pain threshold is different.

While cryotherapy can reduce unwanted pain and nerve irritation, it sometimes can leave the affected tissue with unusual sensations, such as numbness or tingling, and can cause redness and irritation to the skin. However, these effects are generally temporary.

How many treatments will I need?

A single session is used to treat acute symptoms of an affected area and there should be immediate relief of the area after 1 session. The severity and chronic symptoms of the injured area will dictate the number of treatments necessary.

How long does a session last?

A typical session takes minutes to complete and varies depending upon what area is being targeted. For an example, a facial treatment may take from 30 seconds to 2 minutes, while a full abdominal sculpting may take 6-8 minutes.

What should I wear?

For your session, the area of your body being treated will need to be dry and exposed. Wear loose clothes to your appointment, or bring shorts, tank top, or t-shirt to change into for treatment.

What to expect after treatment?

Blood vessels at the targeted area begin to narrow, reducing inflammation and swelling,. In addition, tissues are flushed of waste and fluid. Once the body begins to warm up, the affected area will return to a high range of motion.

Who should not try local cryotherapy?

Although not an exhaustive list, generally local cryotherapy should not be considered by those who are pregnant, have a history of cardiovascular diseases and circulatory disorders, cancer, have open wounds, suffer from cold intolerences, have metal implants or pacemakers, and under the age of 18. Some variables are allowable. If you are unsure, please contact us for a full listing of contraindications.
